For a while I have been thinking of ways to increase the activity levels of amateur radio in Bathurst and surrounds. Well... after much thought and discussion with VK2FSJE a 2m weekly net has been organised. We have had 2 "meetings" so far, and have had a few people each time (although different people each time - so not as bad as it sounds). Anyway, I would love to see a lot more activity in the Bathurst area and belive that our weekly net might be the way we can start something. So far the plan is to meet on Sunday evenings after the weekly broadcast (so roughly 8:30pm) on 146.475mhz simplex. A few people that are currently unable to join in have expressed an interest and we are looking at ways for them to be able to participate (probably some form of repeater will be needed to get them in - this will also open it up for people further out of town too ) So please feel free to come and join us on 146.475mhz FM simplex on the Sunday afternoon. This is also one of those "local" frequencies a few of us monitor so you are more than likely to hear someone there anyway :).Cheers and 73 Bob VK2FBOB (yep - still waiting for my paperwork for new callsign, fingers crossed it will be here soon) |
