Oceania DX contest update PDF Print E-mail

It is now only days until the start of the Oceania DX competition, and preparation work for the site on Mt Bluedog is now mostly completed. VK2FBOB and I went back out to VK2JDS's mountain top (aka Mt Bluedog) DX wonderland on the long weekend to, with his help, finish up the work that had already been started.
Additional dipoles and hut/site modifications were made and transported up the mountain. Some of the modifications and additions included: adding pulleys to the HF mast to make lowering and raising the dipoles easier, installing the lighting into the operating shed, and installing and tuning the dipoles that were made for 40/15/10m.

This equates to the site now having: an operating shed with LED lighting, antennas for each of 80/40/15/10/2 meters, and solar panels and over 600Ah of battery storage. See below for some photos.

Well thats about it. If you hear any of us calling CQ on Saturday/Sunday, make sure you give us a call, we would appreciate it!
